EDUCATIONAL AND TRAINING ACTIVITIES
Military Medical Academy has highly qualified teaching staff: five professors and senior research associates I rank, sixty-eight associate professors and senior research associates II rank, eleven doctors of science, eighty philosophy doctors, forty-nine assistant professors and research associates.
The rich human resource and the excellent work conditions made possible MMA to be authorized as a facility providing training of students, and postgraduate education of specialists and doctors since its very establishment. According to the Law of Health Care Establishments and the Decree of Ministry of Health of 10 July 2001 MMA was accredited for training of students, interns, residents and specialists for period of 5 years with an excellent mark. Since 2002 MMA is accredited for PhD training on 16 medical specialties.
The teaching activity of MMA consists in:
- training of commissioned medical officers, reservists, civilian physicians and mid-level professionals;
- training of medical students on probation;
- training of residents;
- post-graduate qualification of specialists and doctors.
According to the Decree N 31/2001 of Ministry of Health, education, specialization, and advanced studies of military medical staff are carried out at the MMA in order to obtain one of on the following military medical specialties:
- Aviation Medicine;
- Military Hygiene;
- Military Medical Supply;
- OTMS /Organization and Tactics of Medical Service/;
- Military Epidemiology;
- Military Internal Medicine;
- Military Toxicology;
- Military Surgery.
The multi-profile hospital structure, the up-to-date hospital equipment and the specialty and subspecialty clinical units correspond to the university hospitals of West-European type. This made the MMA preferred training base of students, doctors on probation, and fellows from all the country.
